Breaking the Silence Around Perinatal & Infant Loss
Pregnancy and infant loss touch millions of families, yet grief after a loss is often disenfranchised and met with care that leaves parents feeling more alone. For many families, the care they receive in the hours, days, and months after a loss, shapes how they grieve and whether they seek further support.
This session will explore the unique aspects of perinatal and infant loss, language that validates the experience, how to support both partners in the aftermath of a loss, and how to integrate grief-informed care into your practice. Leah MG Jayanetti, PT, DPT, ICU baby’s NICU Wellbeing Specialist, will join the Q&A to share her perspective on supporting families experiencing bereavement during a NICU stay.
