CBC Named Finalist in the 5th Annual Beyond Words Storytelling Competition
We are proud to announce that CBC is a finalist in the 5th Annual Beyond Words Storytelling Competition hosted by the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce Nonprofit Council! On Tuesday, December 2nd, our Palm Beach Outreach Coordinator, Marsha Tejeda, delivered a powerful 500-word story told from the perspective of an object representing our mission — touching hearts and bringing our purpose to life.

Where Culture Meets Grief: This Center Uses History, Traditions To Help Deal With Loss
The Children's Bereavement Center recently concluded a four-session virtual training series focused on Black grief, examining cultural history, traditions, and social justice. The series emerged from community input and pandemic-era disparities that highlighted how grief in Black communities has often been overlooked. The center plans to continue offering culturally informed grief trainings while providing free support groups across South Florida.
Furry Friends Offer Bereavement Healing Over the Holiday Season
The Children's Bereavement Center partnered with Canine Assisted Therapy on a grant-funded community event that introduced therapy dogs as a gentle, accessible way to support people experiencing grief. Organizers say the dogs help participants relax and open up emotionally, especially during the challenging holiday season.
City of Delray Beach's Nonprofit Spotlight on CBC
The Children's Bereavement Center offers free support groups to anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one due to death. Along with free support groups and training opportunities, CBC offers pychoeducational programs and outreach events in the community.
